 Mission Statement: The Entertainment & Media Communication Institute, the research and strategy component of the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. will foster developmental interdisciplinary activities in: health, education, and social sciences, communications research and theory, cultural studies, environmental strategies and information technology. Activities will address commercial and noncommercial media opportunities to promote the well-being of the public and enhance the pro-social impact of entertainment and other media.
 
Programs: Institute programs will include but will not be limited to the conduct of interdisciplinary research and development activities, opinion polling and audience based research, training seminars and symposia, public outreach programs, and multi-platform media productions.
 
Faculty: The Institute Faculty includes leading experts in entertainment and news media, communications research, corporate strategic planning, health promotion and others with expertise in additional relevant fields of study. 
  
 
Why the Institute:  The Institute promotes collaboration between diverse disciplinary experts and relevant publics to develop effective communication strategies to reach and influence key audiences with relevant, accurate and timely information. The Institute will also provide analyzed audience based information back to scientific collaborators and media industry representatives. The Institute provides a new means to implement and position health promotion campaigns, social marketing strategies, risk communication research and new informatics' applications within the broader media space.
